With the help of the Data Bank, organizations can store their observation data in the Finnish Biodiversity Information Facility (FinBIF).
The service can be used by, for example, municipalities, research groups, associations, and working groups. For personal use, however, the Notebook (Vihko) observation service is intended.
- Adopting the Data Bank: First, provide the dataset information to FinBIF. The dataset metadata describe the essential details of the dataset for its users.
- In the Data Bank, each dataset’s administrator manages its access rights.
- You can store either a copy of a dataset maintained in your organization’s own system, or a dataset that is maintained solely within the Data Bank.
